There was some discussion on the beSavage forum on Yahoo about alternate cams for the Savage engine. Seems there were used in ice racing somewhere, would be HP at high RPM cams rather than lugger torque cams. My understanding was there were still obtainable as is a high compression pistion. Carb and exhaust can be improved on, but I have not heard of anyone who can remap the spark curve for the changes in the engine, so much of it would not be as effective and could compromise the relability that most of us have experienced.
